Cindy Beauchamp, President

Cindy was appointed to a board position in March,2017.  Cindy and her husband of 51 years, Ken, purchased their villa in September 2016. They are full-time residents of SMMHOA.

Cindy retired as General Counsel of The Enthusiast Network, a billion dollar Media company, located throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. She has practiced many areas of business law throughout her over 30 year legal career. As General Counsel she acted as legal advisor to  the Board of Directors in New York City, supervised attorneys in the areas of property, copyright and trademarks,  real estate, contracts, transactions, employment and labor law, and was Vice President over the Human Resources, Public Relations and Facilities departments.
Prior to that position, she was Associate General Counsel  for  U-Haul International.  In addition, she has held numerous other legal and Human Resources positions in both public and private sectors including being a trial attorney for the National Labor Relations Board.
Her community service work  includes acting as President and Treasurer of West Wind HOA Resident Association,   President of a Cooperative nursery school, President of Chelsea Area Players, Vice President of Chelsea Senior Citizen's, Treasurer of her Sorority and Trustee of her church. 
Cindy and Ken sold their summer home in Michigan two years ago and are enjoying POI year round.

Kevin Ward, Secretary

Kevin was appointed to the SMMHOA board in February 2019.  Kevin and his wife, June, have been part-time residents of Stella Maris since 2011.

Kevin graduated NYC University, John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1978.  One year later he joined the Port Authority Police Department in NY.


During his years with the police department, Kevin attended St. Johns University and received his Masters Degree in Public Administration.  Kevin worked in many different divisions within the police department including Emergency Medical Services, Auto Crime Unit and Emergency Services Unit. He was then promoted to Detective and had been assigned to the Dept. of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force. 


After 34 years of police service, Kevin retired in January  2014.

Community service has included volunteering with the Community Mayors of New York State, delivering 

meals for the Meals on Wheels program and providing "Meet and Greet" for the Wounded Worriers Project at NYC airports.


Kevin finds enjoyment in boating, learning to fish and learning to golf.

Theo Treuren, Vice President

Theo Treuren was born and raised in The Hague in the Netherlands.  He sailed 9 years for the Merchant Marine until meeting his wife Sherry, who was an American passenger aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam where he served as Officer’s Mate for the Holland America line.


In 1976 the Treurens immigrated to the United States where Theo began a career in construction.  He worked in the capacity of Project Manager for several years for a Canadian developer building condominiums in Palm Beach and Jupiter, Florida. He became a Florida state certified General Contractor and built spec homes for a few years after which he joined his father-in-law’s engineering company in the capacity of building inspector.


When the construction industry collapsed in the nineties, he reinvented himself and became a Florida-certified pest control operator.  He currently owns 50% of Home & Garden Pest Control, Inc. which he started  in 1995.  He holds state licenses for GHP (General Household Pest and Rodent Control), L&O (Lawn and Ornamental Pest Control), and Termite and Other Wood-Destroying  Organisms Control.


Theo & Sherry purchased their villa in Port of the Islands in 2004 and Theo has served on the Landscape Committee off and on.

George Mess, Treasurer

George Mess and his wife Peggy bought in Stella Maris in March 2018.

George was raised in New Jersey and got his teaching degree at Kean University. After teaching for 36 years they moved to Ocean City Maryland where they currently spend the summer months. Since his retirement George has started a new phase of his life owning and operating an import export business with offices in New York and Savannah.

During his career George was honored as Teacher of the Year, Citizen of the year, BIG Brother of the year. He has served as a president of Palm Bay condo association, president of Innovest ( a real estate consulting firm) and president of his current company AP Global.

Civically George has been a member of the Optimist club, big brothers, the Elks club,and has volunteered for various organizations such as Susan Koman breast cancer org


As a new resident George would like to bring his expertise to the board to help get to know the community and its works. It is his wish to help the board continue in its efforts to steer our HOA on a positive course.

Floyd Gillespie, Director 

Floyd and Ann bought in Stella Maris, May 2017....just in time to experience the power of Hurricane IRMA.

They met in high school and as they say “the rest is history.” Both graduated from Michigan State University and will celebrate their 49th anniversary this August.

Floyd‘s major was Criminal Justice and upon graduating was employed in Federal Law Enforcement as a Postal Inspector.

He investigated mail fraud, mail theft, robberies, burglaries, and drugs through the mail.

Floyd worked with Secret Service, DEA, FBI, IRS and local law enforcement. Cases were presented to the US Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia). Floyd retired in 2003 with 30+ years.

In Community Service, Floyd is active with his church in Pennsylvania and served on the Deacon Board for two terms, the second term as Chairman.

Being new to SWFL and Port of the Islands Ann and Floyd enjoy the water and boating. Floyd hopes to help SSMHOA in any way possible.
